Description : the uniqueness and uniqueness of Matera is the 'Sassi' district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, a heritage considered an expression of an ancient life from the protohistoric civilizations of the Bronze Age to the monastic communities, up to the metropolitan marginality where one of the most imposing epics of the southern peasant was concentrated and consumed by the latifundium of this land. Civita is a cultural project of conservative recovery of 18 caves, some of exceptional dimensions, and of a common space in an ancient rock church. The whole complex is located in the oldest part of the Sassi, the Civita, overlooking the Gravina stream, in front of the dramatic scenery of the Murgia Park and its Rupestrian churches, giving life to a widespread hotel.

Arrangements : the interior design, the respectful and minimalist approach of Sextantio is reflected in the furnishing elements.

CLASSIC ROOM

BIG 17: 35sqm approx with bathtub in the sleeping area.

CAVE 18: approximately 35sqm with a shower placed in a cavity that is accessed via a small staircase.

CAVE 20: 30sqm approx. with shower. The large window placed in front of the bed offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Murgia Natural Park.

CAMERA SUPERIOR

CAVE 3: 70 square meters with wide vaults, cozy living area lit by a skilfully handcrafted window, original stone sink and bathtub placed in a relaxation area.

CAVE 6: approximately 45sqm located in an old 'neighborhood' cottage with bright living area and whitewashed walls. Bathtub and services are obtained in a highly authentic environment characterized by original and uneven flooring and two ancient cisterns.

CAVE 7: approximately 45sqm with bathtub placed next to the double bed. A door made from old woods marks the border with the bathroom area characterized by a small window in front of the sink.

CAVE 9: 70 square meters with a third bed, a large and bright living area and a bathtub next to the double bed. A tufa arch introduces the bathroom area with services, sink and shower that rests directly on the most extreme stone.

CAVE 11: approximately 65sqm with bathtub built in a cozy cavity which is accessed via steps and services in a third separate room.

CAVE 12: 70 square meters with private gate. Arcade that divides the sleeping area from the area destined to the comfortable bathtub and to the original stone sink. A cavity houses the services.

CAVE 15: 70 square meters with tub near the double bed and a shower placed in a cavity dug into the tuff. Sink in original stone and services allocated in a secluded environment separated by a wooden door.

CAVE 16: approximately 45sqm with bathtub and services created in a spacious environment characterized by original flooring and cistern.

SUITE

CAVE 10: 140 square meters. A first large grotto serves as a backdrop to the double bed and to the living area while an adjacent cavity houses a writing desk and a small window. A centuries-old wooden door creates access to services, a stone shower and an old manger now used as a sink. The bathtub is placed in the heart of a third large cave

CAVE 14: about 70 square meters is the most striking example of the recovery of a residential unit typical of the Sassi district. The tub is located near the double bed and in an adjacent cave, once a stable and manger, toilets and stone sink.

CAVE 19: ancient 'lamione' vault of about 80sqm with bathtub in bedroom and window with panoramic views of the Murgia. Characterized by a massive wooden door through which you access the services and the shower placed in a cavity dug into the tuff. Entrance and private terrace on the garden.

CAVE 21: family suite of approximately 150sqm with double bed and 2 single beds. Characterized by games of arches and a sign of the passage of the ancient crusaders in the city, it has a relaxation area with a desk and a window. The tank is in the middle of a large cave through which you access the cavity for showering and services. Entrance and independent terrace overlooking the Murgia.

EXECUTIVE SUITE

CAVE 4: over 130 square meters that develops in depth. Beyond the large living area with double bed, there is a vast area for services, an exclusive shower, a stone sink and other evident traces of the promiscuous use of man over the centuries. A further welcoming cavity is entirely dedicated to the bathtub and relaxation area.

CAVE 13: better known as Bridal Suite, it is the only cave to extend on several levels: 80 square meters divided between a night porch with a large window and a balcony with a view panoramic view of the Murgia Park, living room and bathtub placed in a cave with fireplace.

EXECUTIVE SUPERIOR

CAVE 8: 160sqm that extends in width. It is characterized by 7 m high walls and by 2 huge communicating caves: the first is entirely intended for the sleeping area; the second houses a large original stone sink, bathroom, exclusive shower and bathtub in the hollow.
