Departure from Rome Fiumicino for Luxor with a layover in Cairo. Evening arrival. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel or directly to the cruise ship for overnight stay.
After a relaxing breakfast on board, you will begin the day with a visit to the West Bank of Luxor. You will explore the Valley of the Kings, famous for the pharaohs’ tombs, and the Valley of the Queens, where the queens of ancient Egypt are buried. This will be followed by a visit to the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece carved into the rock. After lunch on board, you will continue sailing towards Esna and Edfu, where you will spend the night on board the ship.
After breakfast, you will visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, which you will reach in a traditional horse-drawn carriage. The visit to Edfu will allow you to immerse yourself in the ancient atmosphere of a sacred and majestic place. Subsequently, you will sail towards Kom Ombo to visit the fascinating Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horus, which stands in a splendid position along the Nile. After lunch, the ship will set sail for Aswan, where you will spend the night on board.
Breakfast on board (or packed breakfast), then departure by bus for the excursion to Abu Simbel, where you will visit the majestic Temples of Ramses II, carved directly into the rock. After the visit, return to Aswan for lunch on board. In the afternoon, you will visit the Philae Temple, an enchanting site dedicated to the Goddess Isis, and discover the fascinating history of this location. Dinner and overnight stay on board the ship.
Breakfast on board (or packed breakfast), then transfer to Aswan airport for the 8:05 AM flight to Cairo, arriving at 9:30 AM. Once in Cairo, you will begin the tour with a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, and the Saqqara site with the famous step pyramid. The tour also includes the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, emblems of the pharaonic heritage. Lunch during the tour. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Cairo.
After breakfast, you will depart for an excursion to Alexandria. Here you will visit the Library of Alexandria, a modern masterpiece paying tribute to the historic ancient library, Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs, and the Citadel of Qaitbay, overlooking the Mediterranean. After lunch, return to Cairo for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will begin the day with a visit to the famous Egyptian Museum, which houses an extraordinary collection of artifacts, including the Treasure of Tutankhamun. Subsequently, you will visit the Saladin Citadel, famous for its fortress and historic mosques, and the vibrant Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. In the afternoon, you will explore the Coptic Museum, which tells the history of Christianity in Egypt, and the Old City of Cairo, where you can admire the Coptic quarter and Islamic Cairo. Lunch will be served during the tour. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Cairo.
