Description : this farm is located in the center of Salento, in the countryside of Muro Leccese, a few km from the prestigious Otranto and the most beautiful tourist destinations in Salento . Created in 1996 with the aim of making guests taste the delicacies of our kitchens, the farm has been transformed over the years into a real typical accommodation facility, integrated into the agricultural context in which it is immersed. More than 30 hectares of centuries-old olive trees conducted in organic form the contour of a 1700's farmhouse that has widespread apartments where guests can stay.
The holm oak woods present in our company represent, together with other residual territorial realities, the last signs of the original Mediterranean evergreen forest now relegated, due to the thriving anthropization (urban settlements, agriculture, tourism) of Salento, to short unusable coastal stretches, for morphology and pedology, in economic activities. Furthermore, the boundaries between the fields of the original company and among others gradually merged thanks to the land reorganization process still in progress, have been destined to tree-lined strips: non-cultivated areas of 20 to 50 meters wide, invested with landscape and non-productive criteria mixed forest with Mediterranean species. There are olive groves, cereals and fodder.
Accommodations : the farmhouse offers 5 rustic apartments with kitchenette, air conditioning and in some cases an exclusive open space. The Del Gatto and Della Civetta apartments are located in an old building called 'Vignamonica', about 70 m from the business center, consisting of ground and first floors. They can be connected through an ancient scale; in this case you will have the opportunity to stay in a real Salento farm. The apartments have all been renovated, integrating the modernity with the typical Salento nature. In this way the agritourism structure continues to live as a farm and not as a hotel in the countryside.
-House's apartment
It was born from an old henhouse, located on the first floor of the main building of the company, where around the 50s the old farms jealously guarded the hens sheltered from foxes and martens. In 2008 it was renovated preserving the ancient Lecce stone stairs, typical of the oldest buildings. The apartment has a large terrace with a pergola of grapes under which the early morning is lovely to sip a good coffee. It has the ability to accommodate 2-3 people and consists of a bedroom, living room with kitchenette and bathroom. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning.
-Petirosso's apartment
This apartment was born in the area that until the summer of 2014 was intended for horses. During the realization of the lodging a small robin, every day, approached to check and to greet all the people who approached. This apartment is dedicated to him. It 'a studio with a kitchenette, fireplace, air conditioning; has a small garden for the exclusive use of guests of the apartment (great outdoor space for their four-legged friends). The garden is also equipped with an outdoor shower and sink. It has the ability to comfortably accommodate 2-3 people. It has a connecting door to the apartment of the Goose, thus having the ability to make more people stay.
-Oca apartment
This apartment is dedicated to a guarding goose who was guarding and warned his friends of horses about the arrival of strangers. Built in September 2014, this apartment is a studio with a kitchenette and air conditioning; has a small garden for the exclusive use of guests of the apartment (great outdoor space for their four-legged friends). The garden is also equipped with an outdoor shower and sink. It has the ability to comfortably accommodate 2-3 people. It has a connecting door to the Pettirosso apartment, thus having the ability to make more people stay.
-Apartment of the Cat
It is called this because before the renovation was inhabited by a cat. The premises were intended for wine processing; even today, in the bedroom you can see the ancient Parmiento (a large tank inside which the grapes were stored for the pressing and production of must and grapes) and the wine press.
The apartment, located on the ground floor, consists of three rooms (living room, kitchen and bedroom) and has the ability to accommodate 3-4 people. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning.
-The Civetta apartment
The apartment has this name because every now and then an owl stops on the balcony to rest and to observe its prey from above. It consists of two rooms (living room and bedroom) plus kitchenette, bathroom and large balcony. In the living room there is a double sofa bed and a single bed; It is the largest (about 60 square meters) among the apartments of which the Estate has and can accommodate from 2 to 5 people. The rooms are all equipped with air conditioning.
Activities : Tenuta Sant'Andrea agritourism offers its guests many activities that can be done both in the farm and outside, discovering the beautiful Salento. Depending on the season we organize cooking classes with traditional recipes of Salento (homemade pasta, roast meat, side dishes and desserts) or thematic, with particular attention to techniques and small secrets of preparation ... "Ricchitelle alla sugu cu le purpette and ricotta scante", "Sagne 'ncannulate", "Pittule", "Cartellate", are just a few examples. In summer there are swimming lessons, horse riding or cycling, boat trips. Inside the company a fascinating naturalistic itinerary has been realized, along which you can see very important spontaneous plants to discover biodiversity and beautiful ancient olive trees. And then we organize days of environmental animation and many other activities to discover, get to know and get curious about the discovery of the company and of Salento.
