A Tour in Car to discover the historical-artistic and Eno-Gastonomic beauties of Salento and Valle d'Itria, touching the most evocative places of this fantastic region horse between east and west. In addition to the undiscussed beauty of Salento with this tour you will discover the flavors, the taste of healthy eating and of eating well, the Mediterranean cuisine, the wine of Salento. Thanks to a Salentine Cooking Course with real professionals that will make you touch and prepare with your hands the food that you will eat in the evening for dinner, it will be a unique experience. This tour is always very successful and leaves our guests amazed by the beauty of the visited luoighi but above all by the unique experience of putting the "Mani in Pasta".
Day 1 – Arrival in Bari or Brindisi transfer to Salento stay at a Masseria. Room accommodation. Free dinner. Overnight.
Day 2 – Breakfast and Visit of the Historic Center of the City of Lecce capital of the Baroque called the Florence of the South. Free discovery of the city with its finely decorated churches and palaces. Free lunch. In the afternoon, Salentine Cooking Course in a Historic Palazzo della Città which still preserves the typical environments and places of the past.
Your Salentine Cooking Course will start in the afternoon around 4.30pm
The lesson program includes:
Hands on teaching at least three recipes in a 2-hour lesson
The presence of the teacher and assistant cook;
The presence of an Italian / French interpreter;
All ingredients and equipment needed to prepare the dishes are provided.
A complete dinner based on dishes prepared by participants and other dishes, water, wine, coffee, liqueurs;
Tasting of matching dishes and wines, oils, liqueurs.
The experience of recipe preparation.
Apron, hat, and recipes.
After dinner, Return to the Masseria and Overnight.
Day 3 – Breakfast and free visit of Otranto city more to the East of Italy, possibility to discover the Cathedral, the Aragonese Castle, the Byzantine Church of San Pietro. Free lunch. In the afternoon transfer to Corigliano d'Otranto, Beautiful Medieval Village in the heart of Salento, meeting with the guide (17.00) for the visit and demonstration of a Mosaic Workshop in the historic center and then visit of Castello de Monti. Typical dinner and tasting of typical local products. Return to the Masseria and Overnight.
Day 4 – Breakfast and Free Visit of Gallipoli the beautiful city that preserves a very original seaside village with alleys and unique views. We recommend a visit to the Cathedral and the noble palaces of the Old Town located on the small island in front of the new city. Free lunch. In the afternoon return to the Masseria and in the evening Typical Salento Dinner with tasting of typical dishes of the culinary tradition and of 2 labels of local wines. Overnight.
Day 5 – Breakfast and departure for Ostuni, the White City. Visit of the ancient village that preserves numerous testimonies of a past rich in history and culture. We recommend visiting the Romanesque Cathedral and the narrow streets of the historic center. Free lunch. In the afternoon appointment at the Oleificio Cooperativo in Ostuni where a staff member will welcome us and explain all the stages of olive oil production, a true treasure of this land. An expert agronomist will explain the organoleptic differences between the various production of virgin and extra-virgin olive oil. Tasting of baked goods and olive oil. Transfer to the second Masseria in Valle d'Itria and accommodation in the rooms. Free Dinner and Overnight in Masseria.
Day 6 – Breakfast and departure for the free visit of Marina Franca, capital of the Valle d'Itria, magnificent and elegant town of Puglia that preserves intact its baroque historic center made of churches and palaces. Free lunch. (It is advisable to have lunch in a typical Arrosticceria di Martina Franca or Costernino where simple dishes based on local meat roasted in a stone oven are served). Afternoon to devote to the free visit of Cisternino and Locorotondo that preserve the intact and representative historical centers of the Valle d ’ Itria and all of Puglia. Free Dinner and Overnight in Masseria.
Day 7 – Breakfast and departure to Alberobello with its magnificent Old Town which in its part of the Monti district was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alberobello with its characteristic Trulli & egrave; a little bit the symbol of the whole Apulia recognized all over the world. Internal visit of a Trullo and tasting of spirits and spirits typical of the area. Free lunch. In the afternoon transfer to Agro di Cristiano in the province of Taranto for a visit to Masseria Mita (or other structure) and the tasting of local wine the well-known Primitivo di Mandria and other selection of local wines. Return to the Masseria Cena Tipica Pugliese. Overnight.
