Day 1 – Arrival in Puglia & gt; Tour start / The tour starts at the possible arrival points of the group, namely the Bari Palese Airport or Brindisi Casale. Hotel accommodation in the Costa di Ostuni or Valle d'Itria area. free evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Salento Tour: Lecce & gt; Otranto & gt; Gallipoli / Breakfast, departure for the visit of the historic center of Lecce. Visit to the most significant monuments of the Lecce Baroque: P.za San Oronzo, Church of San Matteo, Church of the Rosary, Piazza Duomo, Santa Croce. Free lunch. Transfer to Otranto. In the afternoon visit of the Historic Center of Otranto, the most eastern city of Italy. Visit of the cathedral with the chapel of the 800 martyrs, the crypt and the mosaic (one of the most important in the world) by the monk Pantaleone. Based on the time still available, continue to Gallipoli on the Ionic side of Salento. Short visit to the historical center of the city which preserves numerous monuments, churches and noble buildings of outstanding architectural value. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Valle d'Itria: Alberobello & gt; Ostuni / Breakfast, visit of Alberobello, capital of the Trulli and symbol of all Puglia. Visit the Rione Monti (UNESCO World Heritage) the Trullo Church, the Trullo Siamese and other enchanting views of this unique town. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit of the ancient village of Ostuni. The White City is spread over a hill that overlooks hectares of olive groves that thin out towards the sea. For lovers of good taste there will be a stop with a visit and tasting of typical products at the Cooperative Oil Mill of Ostuni. Possibility to buy products at very affordable prices. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Basilicata & Alta Murgia: Matera & gt; Altamura / Breakfast and departure for Matera, magnificent city of the Sassi (UNESCO World Heritage) perched on the homonymous gravina and carved into the limestone rock. You will visit the upper part with the Civita which is dominated by the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral and the lower part with the Sasso Barisano. Free lunch. In the afternoon we will make a short stop in Altamura to get to know and discover this fantastic city rich in monuments located in the Alta Murgia National Park. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – Valle d & rsquo; Itria: Castellana Caves & gt; Martina Franca & gt; Cisternino / Breakfast and departure to Castellana Grotte for the visit of its beautiful caves that preserve Stalattictiche and Stalagmitiche formations unique in the world. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit of Martina Franca, a magnificent baroque town, considered the Capital of Valle d'Itria. Martina Franca is famous for its Noble Palaces and its churches finely decorated with the typical white stone very similar to the Pietra Leccese. Short stop in Cisternino, another magnificent town in the Valle d'Itria, before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Cathedrals & Castles: Trani & gt; Castel del Monte / Breakfast and departure for Trani, a magnificent seaside town north of Bari. Visit of its Cathedral, symbol of the Romanesque Pugliese, and the Castle built by Frederick II of Swabia to defend the port. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit of Castel del Monte (UNESCO World Heritage) with its unique octagonal base and with eight octagonal towers on each corner. Continue to the Gargano. Arrival at the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 – Gargano: Manfredonia & gt; Monte Sant'Angelo & gt; San Giovanni Rotondo / Breakfast and visit of Manfredonia with its ancient village. Transfer to Monte Sant'Angelo, symbol of Christian pilgrims. Visit to the ancient village and to the Grotta dell'Arcangelo, a pilgrimage stage during the Crusades era. Free lunch. In the afternoon free visit of San Giovanni Rotondo visit to the places of Padre Pio da Pietrelcina. Visit of the new sanctuary created by the architect Renzo Piano, visit of the ancient convent church and of the church where the Saint prayed. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
